Relaunched for Summer 2014, the YogaBirth Antenatal Teacher Training Course runs over 18 months through a combination of weekend tutorials and workshops, home study and observation of YogaBirth classes.
Through their studies, participants will explore the principles of anatomy and the physiology of pregnancy and birth, safety issues in yoga and the spiritual and emotional experience of pregnancy and childbirth. Emphasis is placed on cultivating excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to listen well and without judgment.
Participants learn to teach inspiring, informative classes that enable women to trust their own strength and intuition.
The course is most suitable for midwives, yoga teachers, doulas, childbirth educators and complementary therapists but applications are welcome from any candidate with a deep commitment to working with pregnant women who can also demonstrate a regular yoga practice of at least a year.
YogaBirth’s Director of Studies Judy Cameron will lead the course, along with Senior Tutors from across the organisation.
