Arlene Dunkley-Wood
In 1993 I completed my training as a Active Birth Teacher. Through the course a slow passion for yoga developed. I was luck to be introduced to such teachers as Sandra Sabatini & John Stirk.

So to continue and deepen my yoga understanding, I decide to do the AIYP teacher training course with John Stirk, Peter Blackabey and Sophie Hoare in 2000.

My teaching and passion for yoga is constantly being enriched, through practice, attending other yoga disciplines (Jude Medhurst – Yin yoga), Sarah Wild (somatic yoga), Monica Voss (Scaravelli), Sandra Sabatini (retreats in Italy & India).

I live and work in Waltham Forest. My speciality is teaching prenatal yoga, aqua natal yoga, Scaravelli Inspired yoga for women and mixed abilities. I also teach back management course: Yoga for Healthy Backs 12-week course in the local area. I am also a doula. Currently designing talks on “the art of being a doula.”

I am a craniosacral practitioner, mizan therapist, deep tissue, therapeutic masseuse, doula and I work from my clinic in Walthamstow.

In 2000 I continuted my training with John Stirk, Peter Blakebey and Sophie Hoare, and I continue to go to Italy regularly to work with Sandra Sabatini. These workshops are crucial to enhance my personal and professional practice.

My pracitise is in Chingford – NE London.

Guest speaker to : College the College of Cranio Sacral Therapy to give talks on my work as a Birth Educator, Doula and Therapist. For 5 years to 2012

As a Doula; I help support the couple in a emotional and empowering way through the birth process. This has been a most rewarding and welcome part of the work that I do with birth. Recognised doula since 2004

My passions is supporting couples through the birth process of their baby. Yoga is the medium that we use to help prepare the mother. Placing her in a firm connection with her body and taking her out of her mind.
